This Week’s Tip:Including Others in Conversation
Why It Matters
One of the best life skills kids can learn is how to include others in conversations and group activities. Small moments of kindness can help new friendships grow and make community spaces feel welcoming for everyone.
Simple Example
If your child notices someone standing alone at a homeschool meetup, park day, class, or event, encourage them to say:
“Do you want to join us?”
or
“Want to play with us?”
Even shy kids often remember the person who made them feel included.
Try This This Week
Challenge your kids to introduce themselves to one new person at an event this week or invite someone new into a game, conversation, or activity. Small acts of friendliness can make a big difference in homeschool communities.
